Daily organ recitals offer visitors the chance to hear one of the world’s most historic pipe organs in a setting known for remarkable acoustics. First built in 1867, the Salt Lake Tabernacle Organ includes 11,623 pipes ranging from pencil-sized tubes to towering pipes more than 30 feet tall—some original to the 19th century. Through its intricate system of pipes, stops, and pedals, the organ can produce music that is powerful, expressive, and moving. Free daily recitals are held in the Salt Lake Tabernacle, with occasional performances in the Conference Center. A beloved tradition for visitors and locals alike, these recitals offer a memorable way to experience a living piece of history.
