Currently closed for renovation. Reopening spring 2027.
The Beehive House, located on the corner of State Street and South Temple in downtown Salt Lake City, is one of the most historic homes at Temple Square. Built in 1854, it served as the official residence of three presidents of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: Brigham Young, Lorenzo Snow, and Joseph F. Smith.
Here, the Lord revealed to President Joseph F. Smith powerful knowledge about the afterlife and the Plan of Salvation. In the 20th century, the Young Women Organization operated the Beehive House as a boarding house for nearly forty years.
Today, the Beehive House has been carefully restored to reflect its long history. Tours offer a glimpse into prophetic revelation and the role of friendship in building faith in Jesus Christ.
